Now just recently, I had them inspect for any problems during an oil change. They came up with needing a new air filter and wiper blades plus a cleening of the mass air flow sensor and the throttle body. The price was $250. I told them I could do the filters and blades myself. How much for the cleaning. I was quoted $150 for a job that takes less time than an oil change and material cost are less also. Materials cost $15 and you still have 3/4 of each can of fluid left. The answer as to why it was so expensive was unreasonable. Stating wages, taxes, insurance etc.
Mr. B's really took care of him. They did a ton of work, for what I think was a really fair price. My Dad said the shop was clean and the guys there were very friendly. They were thourogh, and didn’t do anything until they showed him precisely what was wrong. The waiting area was comfortable, and they had him on the road in short order.
I'm writing this review on my father's behalf because he is from the depression era and doesn't know how to do internet reviews. He was worried about taking his 13 year old car for service because he had been taken advantage of in the past from other guys.
Mr. B's has first rate mechanics and stands behind their work. He is very informative and tells you what you need or what can wait and does NOT try to sell you service you do NOT need as other places try to do.
I travel a distance to come here to get work done. It's the only place I trust! Sometimes it might be slightly more than other places, but most definitely worth it bc I know in the long run I won't have to keep coming back for the same problem
I have been going to Mr. B's for years. I had total faith and trust in them until recently. Firstly, after making an emissions repair on my vehicle, they "saved me the time of getting it reinspected at a NJ inspection station". It cost me $50. I would have rather gone back to the state inspection. That's what I pay registration fees for. He didn't even ask if I wanted it.
I'm glad my oil change isn't that expensive. I think I may find another garage.
